What about the branch where Will shows the book to his neighbor, the one in the wheelchair. (Andrew, I think?) That has the added element of letting him walk.

Anyways, I don't really see age regression as a horror element, though - could be like the Never Been Kissed movie, where the partner adopts a hybrid identity and relives the "golden years" with a different attitude. It could go anywhere from there, but it can have a positive resolution that leads Will into an equally positive realization.
