I quit celebrating Birthday's years ago. But I do have a favorite. In 2016, for my birthday Kathy gave me a driving experience with the Mario Andretti team. They sat us through a 30 minute lecture/video of where we should drive on the track, and to stay off the white line at the bottom of the track, because we'd lost control of the car. I do remember one thing in particular we were told. "On the track, put your foot on the gas, floor it. The cars have a limiter that will not allow you to exceed 155 mph (about 249 kph). Stay off the upper lane, that is for the Professional Driver only." (They used cars that were about 10 years old that we drove.) Part of my package was a 'ride-along' with that Professional Driver; we hit about 175 mph (about 282 kph) at that time. Then it was my turn to drive. After a push start, I was on my own. Yeah, I did take my foot off the gas once, dang it! My best lap was about 149 mph. Truly, a great experience for an open wheel racing fan!
