Greets, Sorry for any confusion, but with all due respect, you misread the email. From our sent logs, I’ve confirmed that the email you received doesn't say anything about automatically renewing it: Email subject: [REMINDER] Extend Your Basic Membership Today! Your Writing.Com paid membership is near expiration! Type: Basic Membership Expires: October 15, 2025 Don't let your membership expire! Renewing extends your membership. I won't copy and paste the whole email. You can re-read it if you kept it -- if you deleted it, it may still be in your trash. Sufficed to say, the email absolutely does NOT say anything about charging your card! Absolutely nowhere in the email does it indicate or allude to any type of automated charging of your card. My response to your request in April: "Re: Automatic Renewal??" ![]() That aside, we do have to email people to give them some notice that their paid memberships will expire. Those emails are sent on Wednesdays, starting about 4 weeks before expiration. MoonMoth ![]() I have made my wishes as plain as I can. If you charge my credit card again, you will prove what I have long suspected: Writing.com is a fraudulent, dishonest organization. I tried to ignore the extreme vitriol in your message... but alas, I have to state: Writing.Com is celebrating 25 years online this month. We're the same small "pop and mom" organization we've always been. Your account is 22 years old. If you've "long suspected" that we're some fraudulent organization, I'm not sure why you're maintaining an account? We're not forcing you to stay here. "Close an Account" is linked from the bottom of every page on the site. It's fast and simple. ![]() We wish you peace, prosperity, happiness and all the best in your writing adventures. Best wishes, SM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
