Even though I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet, I almost always research it for any topic I'm writing about, even for poetry. Often times I don't use anything I read, but I feel more informed. "Write what you know" keeps going through my head. Well I don't know all that much, so without research, I'd be writing about the same boring stuff. Now that I think about it ... I do tend to write about the same topics!
