Edit: I figured it out... The photo lists were excluding some photos, possibly photos that should have been deleted, but failed to be deleted for some reason. I checked the deletion code and it seems to work correctly, so it could have been a many-years-back bug that lead to internal status-flag updates, but not complete deletions.

Your blog/book now has a bunch more photos in the "Manage Book" -> "Manage Photos".
