That's what my aunt did. She had a lot of leftover fabrics and she made our costumes for us. Few years we went out and bought them but nothing elaborate or overly flashy. We weren't like that. I even wore the Charlie Brown ghost you saw him wear.
As adults, we went to parties dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. I also dressed as Father Time another year and then Moses. I had the long beard which was mostly graying but we whitened it up a bit. For Moses, since he wasn't bald and I was, we had to find a flowing white wig I could wear. That was hysterical.
I haven't been to a Halloween party since 1999 but the years of fun we had can never be replaced. All great memories.
