The questions you raise at the beginning remind me of an article I found via LinkedIn. It was clearly indicated be a short read, but it had one of those abrupt endings. It certainly could have has the abrupt ending due to being at the end of the facts known. Still, even a single sentence on plans for posting updates/follow up would have been useful. *Shrug*

(I suppose that it's nice to see I'm not the only one struggling with wrap-ups, though. It makes me feel better to see other writers grapple with this particular skill.)
