...actually, for the most part, yes. I was young and hadn't developed my work allergy, and I learned a lot (which I have since mostly forgotten). There were parts I could have done without, like replacing dark shingles on a dark roof in the blazing sun, or installing scratchy fiberglass insulation in the humid Virginia July, or losing my safety goggles down a column of cinderblock and subsequently undergoing surgery to repair a torn cornea, resulting in a four-month recovery period without being able to work and then swearing to only take desk jobs from then on.
