As a non-scientist, do I need to understand more? I know why they exist, I know how long we've really been manipulating crops (since we figured out we could dig up plants and move them/plant their seeds), I know the pros/cons, and I abhorr woo-woo (including any "appeals to nature" BS). It's one of those subjects where I know enough to not be ignorant, but have no real desire to know much more* - that's what science persons are for. *I'd read up on something "breakthrough," most likely. |
