February books 2 and 3

Black Hawaii: A Quentin Black Paranormal Mystery Romance (Quentin Black Mystery Book 13) Kindle Edition
by JC Andrijeski (Author) Format: Kindle Edition

I read this book back in March. I've read other paranormal / fantasy ones this year too, but I remember this one most so figured I should review it. This was supposed to be Black and Miri's honeymoon/ reconnecting and it started out as much needed paradise for them and quickly turned dangerous. This series I suppose I should explain some but I don't want to ruin it for anyone who wants to start with book one (which is the way to go, starting with book one, as the stories all build on each other). Miri is half human and Black is all seer (a separate race from a separate dimension) and they are not only compatable, but "fated mates" kind of thing. They are also really super amazing fighters, even if they didn't have paranormal powers. They've been to war, they've trained hard, and they're among the best of the best. But this time it wasn't quite so clear that Miri could overcome the big situation at the beginning of the book (supersoldier on beach programmed to kill her) or how all this would fall out given that the world now had an idea of Black's powers and pretty much the powers that be either wanted to kill them or study them or use them. There were plots within plots, a lot of action, and romance (and probably super steamy scenes, but I don't read graphic steamy scenes, so I skip those). Their connection is fantastic.

Black Of Wing: A Quentin Black Paranormal Mystery Romance (Quentin Black Mystery Book 14)
by JC Andrijeski (Author)

Black had wanted MIri to marry him for many books previous and she finally agreed but their wedding definitely did not go as planned. It was not as memorable to me as the previous book but still really interesting and full of action, though to a lesser degree, if I remember correctly. The big thing is that they triumphed and did get married and made peace with someone I really wanted them to make peace with. Again, these books are best read in order and I recommend starting with book one. Actually, I didn't know this when I started the series, but she has other series that start before this, so if I were starting with one book, I'd probably start with the very first series, because every time characters from there are mentioned, I wanted to have read them first but I don't like bouncing between so I just kept reading these.

I don't remember if I finished the series? There are 17 total. I am pretty sure I read the one after this one. Then I think I had library holds to read and didn't get back to the series.
