Thank you so much for this question.

It led to me discovering this video this morning:

I saw a huge collection of William Acheff's paintings at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma years ago.

At the time, I did not understand Trompe l'oeil.

His paintings are so realistic, photos do not do them justice.

I saw this in person and it looked like I could touch the onion skins. It was amazing!
