I have no experience with this myself, but I do know of a couple of writers who use Patreon to at least partially fund their writing career.

What they all do is post short stories or novellas accessible only to their Patreon supporters. But I don't see why your approach should not work either, as long as people know what they are getting.

The one big caveat, though, is how will you reach potential readers? IMO, posting stuff on Patreon is pretty similar to selfpublishing stuff on Amazon and other such platforms. You need a way to reach readers if your stuff in just going to drown in the masses.
