BoM/TWS Message Forum

My membership is up in another day or two. I have enough GPs to do a year of Basic and after that... I don't know. It's gotten me thinking about things though, wondering what my future here would be and what the future of BoM is in general. It's obviously not a secret that BoM has slowed down a lot over the last year or so. The last chapters written for it were back during the summer (I look back at those chapters I did and like a lot of things I write, I thought it was good in the immediate moment but in hindsight not so much). Seuzz was the main engine for it but looking at his profile he hasn't been around in over a month.

There's some story ideas I've had for both BoM and SBTS but I just haven't been able to work up the enthusiasm to do any of it although that's a larger issue as there's other things I'm involved in trying to write that have had the same problem; I get entirely self-defeating. Even on this forum, the last message was a month ago and for a good chunk of 2025 most of the conversation has been dedicated less to BoM (or any of its related spinoffs) but AI which seems to have just cancerously taken over damn near every community I'm involved in, not just here.

So it makes me wonder, what actually is the future of BoM and its related stories? Does it actually have one or after so many years has the well finally run dry? Is there anything about it left to really discuss or any stories left to tell? Maybe I should at least make some threads on here to talk about aspects or ask questions but I'm not really sure what. It also makes me wonder if I keep going after next year or not as well, once my ability to do anything higher than a (useless) Free account has run out. Or maybe this long break will be what's been needed and there will be a BoM renaissance around the corner.
