If by "little kid" you mean younger than a pre-teen, I really loved playing with action figures and building these massive bases out of blocks, boxes, etc. (because my parents were too cheap to buy me the actual bases and fort playsets, LOL) and having these elaborate battles and adventures between warring factions that were a combination of G.I. Joes, Transformers, Battle Beasts, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, etc.
