The Amber Exit

The gold-leafed light begins to spill,
Beyond the ridge of yonder hill.
A warmth that once defined the day,
Is quietly ushered far away.
It leaves a ghost of what was known,
In shadows long and overgrown.
The reach is lost, the colors blur,
To leave but traces where they were.
