Noticing Newbies

Nice to meet you! As it happens, I'm a veteran, too, at least of a sorts. I spent nine years in the as a personnel sergeant Iowa National Guard in a medical battalion, and then two years commissioned in the Naval Reserve. I love mysteries, and have written a couple myself. My most recent is Escape from Cabot's Landing, a SciFi/mystery crossover. Oh, we're cat people, too. We've got two Russian Blues, Boris and Natasha. No flying squirrels or moose, though.

If you like, I'll give your opening chapter a look, although my time is limited. Let me know if you want an in-depth review, and I'll give that a shot, too.
