I'm retired, yet still (just) under state pension age, so living off a health insurance policy and a meagre military pension. They are mainly low-powered computers - Raspberry Pi - which consume only 15 watts each. The more powerful ones used to host the OpenSimulator grid are also low powered mini-pc models. We're in the heart of winter now, and I only have to turn the heating on briefly in the morning to take the chill of the air, but that's mainly down to insulation rather than the computers generating a lot of heat. The place stays cool in the summer. |
