This is for something I am collating: What is the WORST piece of writing advice you have ever received? You may not have received any advice that was bad, and that us fine. Let us know that as well.{/i}. Me? Two: 1) "Write what you know." No. But you need to know what you are writing, making sure everything makes sense at least in world. 2) "Don't write in first person. Readers hate that." Uh-huh. Sure. My best-seller (money and numbers wise) was in first person. The story will tell you how to write. |
