Nervous about this

I don't feel like I should be here.

I'm new to writing. I like to think I can think of nice ideas, but the problem comes when I try to get them down. I think my writing comes out like I'm writing bullet points. I struggle the most with emotion and naturally describing characters. To me, writing is something I'd like to get better at, but I don't know much. Should I just throw multiple drafts at the wall and see what sticks, or should I go methodically and probably still not be good enough? Neither option really excites me...

In any case, I have a lot of ideas (some passable). I take criticism too personally, so maybe this place will help me stop that. But until I work up the will to post, I'll read.
