It saves the path to that interactive chapter to your "Interactive Paths" storage.

Most basically, it's "Favorites" but for Interactive chapters and it stores the "path" to get to that chapter. You can then easily re-read the "story" you created in getting there through the various choices.

When in doubt... Go ahead and try one and then click to the "My Paths" from there to see it in action.
