Thanks for reporting this... separate from the windows, there was a bug with dragging on mobile. Whether you could drag words and sentences in some Chat games depended on which page you had open when you started Chat, not on how many windows you had. That's why closing windows seemed to help sometimes. It's fixed now, so dragging should work no matter where you open Chat from. If it acts up again, let me know which game it was and if possible what page you were on when you opened the chat.

About the windows: there isn't a Writing.Com setting for this. Tabs usually pile up from the small box-and-arrow icon next to links, which opens the link in a new tab. Our port icons also open into new tabs. But your phone can clean up for you pretty easily:

Android (Chrome): press and hold the tab switcher button (the square with a number) and choose "Close all tabs."

And just incase anyone else is looking for this on iPhone...
iPhone (Safari): Settings > Apps > Safari > Close Tabs, then pick "After One Day" or "After One Week." (On older iOS versions it's Settings > Safari > Close Tabs.) To clear them all right now, press and hold the tabs button and choose "Close All Tabs."
