Yeah, geez, I too am regretting not doing more research about piercings before I got these 4 new holes in me! Reading about how bad earring guns are -- moreover, what they do to your poor, sweet ears -- makes me cringe. I should have gotten it done in a tattoo parlor (there's a really rad one here in Eureka, and I was going to get it done there when Nathan and I came up here in May to meet our housemates, but of course I had forgotten my driver's license at home! They require to see that you're 18 if unaccompanied by a parent. Is it the same in England and Indiana?).
