Competition: Each fortnight new prompts for a short story + 10,000 GPs/Awardicon available |
In honor of Halloween, here are the new prompts. Go ahead, scare me silly...well, scare me anyway. I'm already silly. 1. “My God, that’s the biggest pumpkin I’ve ever seen. It’s big enough to live in!” A sinister voice that made the hair rise on the back of Michael’s neck, whispered, “I do.” 2. “Are you sure this is the address your brother gave you? It doesn’t look like someplace he’d want to meet us. I know his car is here but what in the world would he be doing here?” Bob and Melinda stared hesitantly at the long winding drive that ended at the old mansion on the hill. They both had the same thought. The place looked like it was straight out of a Hitchcock movie. And where was Bob’s brother? 3. Old Mr. Moorehead didn’t like trick or treaters. Every year he’d lie in wait behind the shrubs at his house. He’d steal their candy and chase them down the sidewalk. What did he do with all that candy? Everyone knew he never ate the stuff. And what form of revenge are the neighbored kids planning for him this Halloween? 4. “Got everything?” “Yep.” “Let’s go through the list one more time.” “Geez, do we gotta?” “Listen if we screw this up the old man will tan our hides. I’ll read’m off and you tell me if you got’m.” “OK” “Essence of Terror?” “Check” “Sinister sauce?” “Check” “Boiled bat wings?” “Check” Fried eye of….?”
