Phases of the February 20, 2008 lunar eclipse captured by my camera.
What is a lunar eclipse? In the briefest explanation I can think of: The earth casts a shadow over the moon. The sun, earth and moon were in a direct line to cause the February 20th eclipse.|
I took snaps with my Canon Powershot S400 from the lower window of my house. I took pictures until the total eclipse. By that time, the moon had rotated behind the tree that obscured my shot. The last phase I captured will show some obstruction from the tree's branches. My son later asked me why I didn't go outside. I informed him that it was getting late, and I had no desire to stand in below zero temps to finish taking pictures.
