Sitting up slightly, you blink down curiously at the soft ground beneath you, running a paw over it and taking note of the slick, wet surface and the unusual pink color. Still a bit confused, you finally look up, noticing that the ground seems to stretch on forever, like an endless road of pink. But as your eyes follow the road even farther, you see that the road is actually pinched off by a mouth; a mouth belonging to the chubby, pink face of a lickitung.
Which means that you were saved by its abnormally long tongue.
The pink and yellow pokemon blinks down at you with its beady, black eyes. At first, you're unsure of what it's thinking, but when you look around, you see that you're surrounded by cheri berries--and judging from the drool dribbling out of the corners of its mouth, to the hungry giant, you looked like nothing more than an extra furry fruit.
Seeing the greedy gleam in its eye, your next move was obvious: you had to get off! But just as you're about to make a mad scramble for the edge, the ground unexpectedly surges beneath you as the massive pokemon lifts its tongue upwards, tilting it sharply. Despite this, you still try to jump off, except that the lickitung decides to curl its tongue inwards like a bowl, forcing the berries (and you) to line up in a straight, single-file line. And as you begin to slip downwards, you realize exactly what the lickitung's doing: its creating a slide so that it can gulp down the berries one-by-one--and sure enough, you look down just in time to see the pokemon's mouth open wide, the black throat flexing open just as the first berry tumbles out of sight. The giant didn't even swallow. It just allowed the treats to fall straight down into its stomach, one after another.
In spite of all your efforts to escape, you soon realize that you're helpless to flee. The throat seems to rush closer--and that's when you see it! The uvula! Just dangling there high above the death pit that was the giant's esophogus. If you could just grab hold of it and hang on, maybe you could completely avoid your dark fate inside the pokemon's massive belly.
There were only a handful of cheris in front of you now, so you'd have to time it just right. You're inside the luckitung's beak now, and you countdown as you witness the last of the berries disappear over the edge of the tongue.
It was now or never!
