How was she suppose to know that object that just crunched under her foot was anything more than garbage? She almost screamed when two giant ghost like entities flew up into the air than slammed downward, right toward her. She ducked down, and covered herself, and closed her eyes...but nothing happened. She looked up, and saw a few people staring at her oddly, wondering why she was taking cover. Amanda looked around, and then under her foot, seeing nothing there.
Being as shy as she was, she left the grocery store without buying anything. Pacing home as fast as she could, wondering what had just happened.
Suddenly, she blacked out. Actually, she had a vision. The vision lasted less than a second, but to Amanda it lasted longer. It was the 2 ghosts that just flew at her, floating over her, with human like shapes. It seemed as though they were struggling against each other.
"We...are..." Said the white ghost, "Protectors of the laws...of nature."
The darker, black ghost struggled to talk back. "We are the...last ones...struggling on your plane of existance."
"What?" Amanda said, confused.
The white ghost managed to pick up the dark one, and toss it some distance. "We are in conflict. As we struggle, we twist the physical world around us. We were locked safely in that orb you shattered, but now, we are locked within your very body."
"Oh God..." Amanda looked down at herself, feeling disgusted, like she had some sort of parasite.
The black ghost charged at the white one, knocking it down and away. "I represent the power and unpredictable concepts of life and living beings. A tree ignores the creations of man, it's roots able to break through the toughest of inventions. A seemingly random random process, that IS order over a long term!"
"Liar!" The white ghost shouted, and flew at the black one, knocking it away. "Order must be carried out directly, Amanda, don't you see! Within you, you have the choice. Choose me, and your body will be kept stable, and safe."
"Or..." Said the black ghost in the distance. "I will make your body beautiful, and fertile, growing more amazing and perfect with each moment!"
"Endlessly, Amanda!" The white ghost responded. "You will grow bigger and bigger, he is right, but you will grow forever! You will never be able to live a normal life! Pick me, banish the chaos from you!"
Amanda paused, she wasn't sure what to do. "Amanda!" "It will not be endless!" The black ghost yelled. "Pick me! I feel the hatred you have for your body, I will fix it! Quickly! before it's too late!"
"Endless, probably not, but you would grow an over exaggerated form!"
"Wait, too late for what?" Amanda asked, unsure of what to pick. She wanted some middle ground...she didn't want to grow too big, but she wanted a better body. But it was too late, and Amanda awoke from her vision. She did suddenly know one thing...that she would randomly grow, overall her whole body would enlarge, and every midnight, she would go back to normal.
This was even worse than being small! "Whatever!" She said out loud. "I pick the white one!" It was too late. They were locked with in, both of them, battling for control over her body. The black ghost trying to make her grow, the white one trying to keep her the same, and returning her to normal at midnight.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
