I checked my bags one more time before handing them to the attendant so that they could be checked in. That done, I made my way towards security so I could get to my gate.
The TSA didn't give me any grief as I went through the security check. I think one or two of them actually tried flirting with me. When I finally made it to my gate, I still had over an hour to wait until my flight.
I bought some overpriced airplane food and played with my phone until the boarding call and was airborne soon after.
The flight was smooth and the plane touched down after five or six hours at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. I was really excited to see my dad again after so many years. After he and my mom separated, I did not get the chance to see him very often. Especially after he accepted a job opportunity that had been extended to him that required him to relocate to Canada.
I moved quickly to clear customs and get my bag and moved out into the public area of the airport.
