''Where'd you been champ?'', your dad asked you, looking up from his plate,''Julia and Tina were looking for you.''. You slowly walked and took your usual place, where an assortment of cuisine was laid out before your eyes. Although you despise Sharon, she cooks well, something that she shared with Tina, aside from good looks. You never took that in high regard, considering she mostly stayed at home or visiting her friends, your father's occupation as one of the youngest partner in the law firm meant that your family lived a comfortable life.
''Yard sale, dad.'', you scooped a goop of tantalizingly mouthwatering Indian curry and some fragrant rice. ''You know the old guy down the street? He's moving away.'' Your gaze went to Sharon who just entered the room, due to your dad's high volume of work, the family can only enjoy lunch together on a Sunday. Your dad had also made it a priority to share a meal with his kids at least once a week, only twice he had broken this rule, the first was when your mum left him, the second was when the law firm's biggest client was fielding a lawsuit against a competitor over a patent.
Sharon looked at you disapprovingly,''I don't like the look of that old man. Creeps me out.''. It was another display of something that you hated from Sharon, she seemed to have an opinion against anything that you say or do or like. Usually you'd snide a remark back at her and either Tina or Julia or your dad would have to intervene. But you were more occupied with the scroll, you let this one slide, again, much to the surprise of the other family members. With a mumbled, ''Okay'', you continued your meal.

''Are you alright?'', Julia asked with concern at the kitchen sink. As usual, the responsibilities of washing up on a Sunday lunch fell unto you, while Julia would be in charge of drying. Although the meal was exquisite and some leftovers meant that there would always be a constant supply of tasty food around the house, the washing up pile was one that you loathed. Not that you never asked if your family would soon get a dishwasher machine. ''Uh? Yeah.'', you mumbled. Your mind was still racing about the scroll and its powers, you didn't even notice you were down to your last plate. Giving it a good rinse, you put it on a the clean pile and wiped the sink, leaving the rest to Julia.
You rushed back upstairs and found the scroll where you left it. Inside a secret drawer with your porn stashes, after discovering the effect, you made sure that it wouldn't fall into Tina or Sharon's hands. You thought to share the finding with Julia, but you decided to wait for the right moment, after you have fully uncovered the scroll's powers. Just as you thought you've finally obtained peace and quiet, your phone rang.
''Dude! Where are you?!,'' you heard Jimmy's voice rang clear.
''Oh shoot... Sorry man, I completely forgot.'', you hinted an apologetical tone. You promised to help him look for a present for Lucy. While it's true that you and Lucy used to be an item long ago, you broke up with her and not long later, she dated Jimmy. The dynamic of the friendship though allowed everyone to be content on where everyone stands, although you increasingly felt like the third wheel every now and then.
''Come on dude, it's getting close to closing time.''
''Yeah man. I'm going... I'm going...'', you heard line disconnect and got changed into long sleeved checkered shirt and a pair of jeans. There were not many occassion of Jimmy getting agitated and anxious about something, but if there were any, it would be something about Lucy. Known as a prankster, he typically had no clue about how to keep a girl, but he confessed to you that he wanted to get it right with Lucy.
Donning over a matching sweater, your gaze fell back to the scroll, you can either bring it with you and maybe try it out in the shopping centre or you can hide it again and use it after you had rescued Jimmy from his predicament.
