Chapter #11Elasticgirl: One, Mr. Incredible: Zip by: chaos   Unlike her bulkier, fiercer husband, Elasticgirl preferred to do things silently and slowly. She knew her babies were in trouble, but she reminded herself that the best thing she could do was to keep a level head. Once they were safe, then she could start acting irrationally by beating or eating the criminal that had dared to steal her children. Elasticgirl moved from room to room, by stretching underneath them one at a time. It took time, but she reached the back of the warehouse in time to hear two voices, one laughing maniacally and the other responding with dry wit.
Elasticgirl pressed her back against the wall, stretching her body out to hid her outline. She edged her way closer, spotting her daughter hanging suspended from a rafter. She was tightly tied up, leaving her to only taunt the hysterically laughing super villain.
“Why the hell are you laughing? Is there something funny about kidnapping or do you just suffer from some kind of mental illness?”
The super villain growled angrily, while Elasticgirl held back a chuckle. Her daughter shared her wit and had a habit of pointing out the huge flaws in super villain’s plans or actions. Being a teenager, she had a way of seeing the glass half empty for everyone they confronted.
“Silence!” The villain dramatically screamed, pointing at Violet as she swung from the rafters. “You will show respect to the great Sword Swallower! Master criminal, great genius and soon to be the one running the show in this city. He thinks he can order us all around like his puppets because he’s in charge, but I’ll show him! I’ll show everyone I should be in charge when I both bring in a sack of money and the cities four best super heroes. I’ll be the one running the circus then!”
“Dude, seriously, you need help,” Violet dreary groaned, having heard one too many stupid villain rants to give Sword Swallowers much attention. Sword Swallower stomped his foot, frustrated that this child was ignoring his greatness. Maybe she’d listen a little better after he cut off one of her ears, he thought reaching for his sword hanging by his side.
“I have to agree with my sidekick, you do need help Sword Swallower, but you’ll have to get it in prison.” Elasticgrl stood across from the criminal with her hands on her wide hips, ready for action. The sight of her mother brought a smile to Violet’s lips, she knew she’d come to rescue her. Sword Swallower sneered and drew his sword, ready to carve his name in super villain history by taking out Elasticgirl.
“Ready yourself Elasticgirl, for I am Sword Swallower! Master of the blade, swami of the sword, the best ever…”
Elasticgirl decided to stop him there. She had better things to do then listen to this nutcase rant on. She took a running start towards him, leaping into the air, as she got closer and wrapping herself up into a ball. He ducked out of the way, as she crashed down on the spot he’d been standing moments prior. He rolled away from her, sword pointed out and ready to strike her down. Elasticgirl moved into her fighting pose; ready to take him on head to head. She glanced at his sword, why did it seem that she always ended up fighting someone that had a big sharp object? She could deflect bullets and punches with her highly resilient body, but blades cut through her easily. However, the good part about having fought so many blade-wielding foes was that Elasticgirl knew how to stop them without difficulty.
She lashed out with her right arm, using it as a whip and aiming low. Her arms hit Sword Swallower in the legs and knocked him off balance. In that one instant of unsteadiness, Elasticgirl lashed out with her other arm, knocking the sword from her foes hand. Sword Swallower dumbly looked at his empty hand, shocked that he had been disarmed so easily. He looked at Elasticgirl as she menacingly stalked towards him with plans to teach this man not to mess with a mother and her children.
Eventually…
“Is everything alright?” Mr. Incredible asked after crashing through the wall with his son close behind him. The first thing he saw was his wife, lowering their daughter down with her extended arms. She turned to her worried husband with a big smile.
“We’re just peachy,” Elasticgirl grinned and let Violet down beside her. The former housewife and now super hero dusted herself off ad walked over to her husband, who looked confused.
“But I heard screaming?” The bulky man muttered and scratched his head.
“That would be our sword wielding friend over there. Turns out he has a glass jaw.” Elasticgirl pointed behind her at Sword Swallower, who was rocking back and forth on the ground, weeping and cradling his shattered jaw. His pathetic behavior made Elasticgirl shake her head in wonder how someone so fragile could become a super villain. She looked back at her husband, curious on how his rescue went. “Where’s your super villain, honey?”
Mr. Incredible groaned, once again, he’d lost a villain and his wife had captured one. She also probably had more of a clue about what was going on then he did. Maybe this was why he loved her so much, he could get a job done, but it was her that got the job done right.
