This choice: Go back to the Incredibles • Go Back...Chapter #13Family Togetherness by: chaos   “Gaaa-Geee-Whoooo-Iwwwwwwbbbb!” Screamed Sword Swallower as he was led away by the police in handcuffs. The super villain’s words were so minced up because of the broken jaw he had. The sword-swallowing fiend was now going to be unable to swallow anything solid for a few months and would earn the name ‘Soup Swallower’ on his cellblock. The Incredible’s watched him go, one criminal down, a crime organization to go.
“I can’t believe you broke his jaw, mom. now we’ll never find out where the other guy went,” Dash huffed in disappointment that he wasn’t going to be able to pay the impenetrable man back for kidnapping him anytime soon. His sister came behind him and smacked him in the back of the head.
“It’s not mom’s fault, stupid. The guy was a jerk and deserved to get his jaw broken, and don’t call her mom, people are listening.” She glared down at her brother, brushing aside the hair on the side of her face to glare at him with two eyes. Dash stared angrily back, not willing to let his sister push him around. They might have officially become super heroes, but their petty sibling squabbles hadn’t stopped.
“Don’t call me stupid!” Dash defiantly replied and crossed his small arms over his chest.
“Why not, you are stupid? What other reason could there be for you getting beat up by that second rate villain Fire Swallower.”
As if on cue, Elasticgirl’s belly rumbled as it moved all the mass of what had once been the criminal Violet was mentioning to her lower intestines. Elasticgirl blushed and covered her midsection, hoping her kids didn’t figure out what was happening inside her body. Luckily, they were too busy hissing and cursing to pay any attention to her. She was about to end the fight, when her husband stepped in.
“Okay you two break it up,” Mr. Incredible barked and stepped between his arguing children. Dash and Violet quested down, but they didn’t stop glaring at each other hatefully. To break the tension between Dash and Violet, Mr. Incredible came up with a brilliant idea that would help his children and benefit him as well. Taking a gallant pose, he addressed his children formally.
“Children, as leader of the Incredibles, I’m ordering you to improved your teamwork by spending the day outside of the house together. Being together all day will give you a chance to better understand the importance of working as a team and family. Also, you might as well take your baby brother with you, he can probably learn something as well.” Horrified expressions were on both children’s faces at the thought of spending the day together. They turned to each other, making disgusted faces at the sight of the others face.
“But dad!” They cried out as one, neither of them wanted to be stuck in the same room together, much less spend the day without their parents ‘bonding’.
“Don’t dad me, you’ll do as I say, I am the leader.” Dash and Violet grumbled and started to head home with their parents heading behind them later. They had to take separate routes so no one noticed they were traveling together like a family. Mr. Incredible and Elasticgirl headed home the long way. As they roof hopped, Elasticgirl stopped her husband to talk to him. She stared at him crossly, tapping her foot as she tried to keep a calm head.
“Honey, do you have any idea what you’ve done? You sent our squabbling super powered children out into the city for the whole day, with an unstable infant that could level an entire block. What were you thinking?”
“That the house will be empty all day,” Mr. Incredible grinned and slid his arm around his wives waist. The stretchy super hero blinked. She had forgotten her husbands offer to be the one inside her from earlier this day because of the unexpected kidnapping. She thought about what they could do alone in the house together and the damage her children could potentially unleash upon the city. Her civil duty to her city was pushed aside at the thought of all the wickedly fun things they could do with the kids away.
“Okay mister, you’re off the hook,” Elasticgirl smugly said. She rubbed her husbands chin and smirked up to him. “But just for the record, I’m the leader of the Incredibles.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Mr. Incredible quickly agreed. He jumped with his wife to the next roof; heading towards a home they knew would be empty. Today was their day to enjoy themselves, let the city and their children take care of themselves for one day. The married couple needed a day to relieve some stress the way all married couples knew how to.
