Sean saw Karla run out of the lab. Figureing that some disaster must of occurred, he hurried down the hall. Looking through the glass pane in the door, Sean saw nothing obviously wrong so pushed through the door and went into the air.
He looked around the room and again saw nothing obviously out of place. A faint sound came to his ears. It sounded like the distant echoing of speech. Sean couldn't make out any of the words and figured that Karla must have left a radio on somewhere in the lab.
Searching for the source of the sound, Sean slowly moved around the room. Noticing that the sound seemed slightly louder towards the work station, he moved on that direction.
Sean looked up and down the tower of equipment but nothing seemed to be on. Puzzled, he was about to turn and head out of the lab room when he caught a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye.
He looked over at the table and could see that there was something on the surface that clearly hadn't been there before. And it was moving!
Sean slowly took his glasses off and wiped them off with a handkerchief he kept in his pocket. He replaced the handkerchief and glasses and bent over to have a closer look at what was on the table.
