Thirty minutes later, Morris said to Caitlin, "I'm sorry, I can't find anything you can wear."
"Nothing?" Caitlin said, wondering as she spoke if her boss had really tried that hard. "In this whole company, there's nothing I can wear for the rest of the day?"
"That's right," Morris said.
"But what am I supposed to do?" Caitlin said.
Morris handed her a clipboard. "This is the best I can do for you."
If I take it, I can at least cover one important part, Caitlin thought. Or I could look for something myself.
