Chapter #10

The secret of Billy, or how Plushies have kids.

    by: Ebony Author IconMail Icon
THe moprning comes soon enough, though you hear Daniel crying in his sleep. Poor thing. Oertime you have seen him so much as a son rather than as a human owner.

Dr. Jennings is waiting for you as you come down after letting Daniel out. It took some time to explain it all, but he seems happier now than ever. He is very excited when he sees Pouch, and goes off with him. THe meeting reminds you to ask about Billy.

"Ah yes... I figured that would be coming up." THe doctor says, smiling as he drank some honey tea. "You see... some kids get very attached to their toys. TO some who arew very low in this poor world, they are all they have. But of course, plshies are immortal as long as they are cared for, and humans are well... not."

You sigh and nod in agreement. You saw your most loved owner die, asking you to take care of her son.

"But... there is a way around this. A plushie only has to digest the child they eat."

"But... we can't!" You say. The doctor smiles.

"You are partially right. You cannot break them down into nutrients and all that. You don't need to. But I have found that all plushies can, if the concentrate, convert human flesh and bone into stuffing, silk, and fur. The soul is encased in this conversion, and while it takes some time to adjust, the truth is that the resulting new form is actally very nice.

"However, there is no way to reverse the process. Billy will never again be a little boy. He will be a plush kangaroo as long as he lives, which is a long time for a plushie."

You nod. "Why did he agree incidently? TO give up all his humanity..."

THe doctor sighs. "I suppose I can tell you. You see, he was dying. He had a form of cancer which would have killed him. His parents could have had it removed, they had the money to, but they did not want him. They wanted no children to spend their wealth on. Pouch told Billy he could end his pain... but he would never again be a boy. Billy was so heartbroken by his parents that he gave it all up.

"THe conversion took three days. When he emerged from the pouch, with the cute button eyes and the round little belly, he was initially shocked, even a little sacared. But ever since, he has never been happier. He loves seeing the kids come in, give him hugs and kisses, and then snuggling up in Pouch's... er... pouch."

You hmm some. It is a possibility to consider, if nothing else works.
