Chapter #43

Some guys are lucky, others not so much

Nadia didn’t know what to say to her sudden visitor, what do you say to someone that watches you sleep for an hour with out you knowing? It wasn’t that Nadia wasn’t trusting Grandis, it was just that having someone watch her with out her knowing seemed to be a lot like what that Gargoyle guy had been doing. Nadia didn’t even want to think about why or how she was being spied on, but before she went to bed, she checked her room from top to bottom in search of any holes in the walls or signs of past people. After checking the room, she locked her room tight and closed her blinds. She wasn’t sure how they were spying on her before, but she swore that no one would be watching her with out her notice ever again. Wait, she looked her room tightly, so how did Grandis get in?
“How did you get into my room?”
“Thief remember, I’ve got experience breaking into secured rooms, yours was a piece of cake compared to some of the joints I’ve ransacked.” Grandis seemed sincerely proud of her braking and entering skills, which Nadia felt unsettling.
“Grandis, while your traveling with use, no stealing, okay?” Grandis pled at what Nadia said and looked as though she couldn’t understand what was said.
“Then how the hell am I going to eat, if I can’t steal from people?” Flabbergasted, Grandis muttered.
“Honest work?” Nadia’s suggestion got her a bitter look from the vain redheaded thief…er…ex-thief. With Grandis glares holes in Nadia, the dark skinned girl tried to change the subject to put an end to the awkward silence that had been forming.
“So, did you find Sanson and Hanson?” To Nadia’s question, Grandis smiled darkly.
“I located them at a bar, trying to drown their sorrows with cheap brandy. I explained my disappointment in them for destroying my property and let them give their side of the story before punishing them. Their arguments were less then stellar and I had to make them understand the price of disappointing me,” Grandis said chillingly.
“You didn’t hurt them, did you?” Nadia asked nervously. When she had last seen Grandis, it looked like she was going to murder someone. Nadia respected and liked the woman, but her frequent mood changes and eccentric nature put her on edge. One minute Grandis could be cheerful talking and the next she could be screaming her head off at the person closest to her. Nadia wasn’t sure if it was because of a trauma in her past or a personality trait that was unique in Grandis. One thing was for sure though, Nadia never wanted to be on the receiving end of another of Grandis’s rage benders again.
“Don’t be silly dear, I only sent them out to cool off and think about what they had gone.”

In the middle of a rampant river on the outskirts of Paris, two men were tied to a pole in the middle of the tumult waters. The men’s white coats were reduced to tatters and the powerful lake disheveled their appearances. They had been out there since their employer showed what she referred to as ‘disappointment’ to the two unlucky men. They shivered from the cold and tried for the umpteenth time to get lose, but Grandis’s knots were too tight even for the two men to break. Their lies weren’t in danger because the water only past their necks every few minutes and quickly fell back down, but the cold and near drowning was more then a little unnerving.
“When the boss asked us to name one good thing about losing the plane, why did you have to say ‘we'll save on having to put gas into it’?” Hanson screamed at the man next to him on the spike.
“I thought it was a good point. Now, save your breath, your going to be needing it.” The waters then raised again and the two men momentarily disappeared under the raging rapids.

The cruel and insane giggles of Grandis made Nadia’s hair stand up on end. For someone with so much good in them, how could they have so much evil?
“So, will they be joining us tomorrow?” The question stopped the insane chuckles and Grandis flashed a brilliant smile at Nadia.
“Of coarse, someone has to carry my bags and it certainly isn’t going to be you or your boyfriend.” Nadia mentally tallied up the number of people going on the trip. Her and Grandis made two and her lackeys made it five and with her boyfriend, the total came to five people traveling together. Hold a second, did Grandis say her boyfriend?
“Boyfriend!” Nadia said too loud. Jean started to stir o her stomach, but he quickly rolled over and fell back asleep.
“Yah, you know that two inch French boy that likes to play tonsil hokey literally with every girl he meets.” Grandis explained pointing at Jean. Nadia’s anger from being awoken returned with a vengeance. How could Grandis even suggest that Jean liked be swallowed by all the girls around him. Sure, he liked hers, but he told her it had to do with her personality and how much he cared for her. He had explicitly told her how horrible the experience inside Grandis had been and how the only mouth he wanted to be in was hers. Jean wasn’t some male floozy that liked being swallowed by girls, he was a sweat caring boy that had opened her heart to the outside world.
“Jean doesn’t like being swallowed by all girls and he isn’t my boyfriend.” She looked at the boy she was talking about sleeping on her silky stomach, completely oblivious about the conversation going on about him.
“He’s just a friend”
“Whatever you say dearie, but if your not dating, then you wouldn’t mind if I started dating the tiny boy.” Grandis giggled softly and blew a kiss to Jean.
“What!” Nadia screamed. She covered her mouth with her hands, that had to have woken Jean, but he remained unaware. Everything that had happened today and really tuckered him out and he was practically dead to the world until he got his full nights sleep. At seeing Jean was asleep, Nadia’s attention returned to Grandis who had gotten into a flirtatious mood.
“Five hours ago, you were treating Jean like a parasite, you threatened to keep him in you like a pet, now you want to date him.” Nadia could scarcely believe it; this woman had gone from hatful to lovey-dovey in only a few hours. Was she a schizoid or something?
“Well, he’s so cute and nice, he’s every girls dream guy. You don’t have to worry about him straying because if he did he wouldn’t get far. You can take him everywhere, in your purse, in your hand, in your frock. He sure showed that he was full of energy when he tried to get out of my stomach, which will come in handy later on in the relationship.”
“How will being full of energy come in handy later on in the relationship?” Nadia got a sinking feeling inside her and Grandis smiled, but not her friendly or maniacal smile. Oh no, this one Nadia had never seen before, it was a lewd smile.
“Lets just say that have part inside my body that I would love to feel Jean squirming around in.” Nadia blushed hotly, not needing Grandis to spell out what she was referring to. Jean had said that he wanted to explore new parts of her body, could he be referring to that. She wasn’t ready for that and she wasn’t sure if she ever wanted for Jean to do that. She had never really kissed a boy before, her few kisses to Jean didn’t count because they were just pecks on the head. Things were going so fast, two days ago, she hadn’t even been thinking about boys and now it was all she could think of.
“Grandis please don’t take Jean away,” she mumbled softly to the older woman.
“Oh, and why not?” Grandis was trying to ask strait faced, but it was quickly fading as she felt the giggles coming on again.
“I’m not ready for a real relationship, but when I am, I’d like it to be with Jean.” She knew that she was being selfish, but God damn it, she had a rough life and if she wanted Jean to only love her she damn well deserved it.
“Okay, he’s too young for me anyway,” Grandis said nonchalant.
“Huh?” Nadia didn’t understand, didn’t Grandis want Jean so she could be loved and have someone to love back?
“I never really wanted him, I just wanted you to say that you want him.” Grandis finally lost the battle and broke down into a side splitting laughing frenzy. Nadia didn’t share her female friends humor, it had been a really scary minute when she thought she had competition for Jean. She was just glade that Jean hadn’t heard her saw how she felt, it would have been too humiliating if that had happened.
