Fury and Breda were terrified, trapped in Al's massive warm hand. He was squeezing them tightly and it was hard to breathe. They got minor relief when Al finally snatched the scurrying Falman and he had to open his hand to put him with the other two. It didn't take Al long to spot Hawkeye, leaning against a chair leg, holding her pistol at the ready. As he reached out to grab her, she shot him in the finger. Al gasped in surprise and pulled his hand back. The bullet was just a pinprick, but a bead of blood welled from the tiny hole. He glared at Hawkeye and roughly grabbed her, putting her with the rest.
Roy, meanwhile, had managed to hide himself behind the door frame and was watching as Al rounded up his team. He was lucky Al hadn't spotted him when he first ran into the bathroom. He was safe for now. But it wouldn't take Al long to find him and then they could all be in serious trouble. Al was very protective of his brother and probably wouldn't think twice about getting rid of them if it meant his safety.
Roy decided to risk another look to see where Al was. He quickly peered out from behind the doorframe, and saw Al looking around. Just as he was about to pull back into the bathroom, Al spotted him. Roy quickly pulled on his reactive glove as Al advanced on his position. As soon as Al was in the doorway, he snapped his fingers. A burst of flame appeared on Al's shoulder, singing his clothes. Wasting no time, Roy snapped again and again and again, hitting Al in numerous spots. Roy kept snapping until Al's titanic figure was shrouded in smoke. He stopped for a minute, thinking Al would surely be unconcious by now. But when the smoke cleared, not only was Al still standing, but he was perfectly unharmed! Not a single mark was on him! Before he knew what was happening, Al grabbed Roy and put him with the others. He brought his hands together and trapped them in the darkness of his cupped hands.
"What do you think he's going to do?" Fury asked sounding paniced.
"He's probably taking us to Ed." Havoc said, lighting a match to see better.
"He might just get kill us." Breda said.
"Al's not like that!" Fury said.
"He might, if it meant protecting Ed!" Breda said.
"Whatever happens, just be ready." Hawkeye said, quite calmly.
Al entered the bedroom and saw Ed laying on his back, eyes closed. Al could tell he wasn't asleep. It was still pretty early. He probably just got bored with the movie. Al switched off the projector and turned on the bedroom light. Ed sat up and looked over at his big little brother and said, "What's that in your hands Al?"
Al opened his hands and deposited the soldiers onto the bed. He made sure to keep his hands close by in case they tried anything funny. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
