Stab the dragon thru the heart. It's the only way out. A very slim chance, but a chance. So...
!@#$ problem one. Amelia is head down and, big as the dragon looked, there is just not room for a woman to turn around in here. In fact she nearly fills the stomach to capacity. So she has to look at the tail while the heart is at the head.
But maybe she can still do it... Stick into top of stomach and push with the legs... Yes, that could work, but it has got to be done just right. A stab into the lungs or elsewhere won't kill fast enough to save her. And she won't get a 2nd chance either. That stick will be jammed in too far for her to pull back while crammed in this stomach. Well, have to try anyway...
Stick into stomach wall...feet on top...pu...!@#$ the thing wobbles too much. Got to get better guidance, but how? ...
Grabbing forward and pulling the little dragon back to her, Amelia says "Little guy, you had better be way smarter than I think or we both are so dead...
"You see this stick. You have got to grab it, put your paws on it, yes, like that. Now you have got to aim it at this big lug's heart.
"Let's see... Your heart and stomach are here, and here. His should be about a foot directly behind the end of the stomach. You listen for the heartbeat and then make sure the stick is pointed directly to that heart. You got that?"
The answering whimper could mean anything, but Amelia has to hope it means yes. "Okay, now down to my feet you go." And she starts pushing and squeezing to get the little dragon to the other end of the stomach.
It's encouraging that the little dragon seems to be trying to get to the right position, and that it is holding onto the stick, maybe in the right position. Plenty of chance this is accident, but it might be working...
"Ready?" The answering whimper sounds sorta the same as the previous one, and Amelia has to hope it does mean yes. "OK, hold it steady, because this is our only chance..."
And she starts pushing with both feet.
