June Vanishes

Vermithrax waits until all the girls fall asleep before opening his eyes. He then looks down at the sleeping women and chuckles silently.

"Time for a midnight snack." Vermithrax whispers to himself evilly.

...

Amelia wakes up with a yawn and looks around the campsite. It's early morning and Kyrstal and Keira are still asleep and June is...

"Hey where's June?" Amelia asks aloud.

"Huh... What about June?" Kyrstal mumbles as she and Keira wake up.

"She's not here!" Amelia answers.

"She woke up early and left so she could get to the temple first and become the dragon queen." Vermithrax spoke startling the three girls.

"What?! That cheater! I hope something eats her!" Kyrstal yells in anger.

"Something doubtlessly did." Vermithrax explains, "I tried to warn her how dangerous the jungle is but she wouldn't listen."

"Good!" Amelia shouts, "Can lead us to the temple now?"

Vermithrax nods as he stands up, "Follow me."
