Chapter #8Down the rabbit hole... by: Unknown Lara sighed- these guards really thought they could win. It truly was pathetic. She waited until the idiots had to reload, and then she whipped out her Desert Eagles and took both of them out with a shot from each gun. She stepped forward, ready to enter the temple.
As she strode through the ruins, Lara noticed a lack of traps or guards...it was almost too easy. Lara hates it when it gets too easy. As she stepped forward, even her trained senses didn't notice the slight depression of one of the stones her foot had stepped on. Not even her trained hearing could discern the silent whirring of gears inside the temple walls. The one thing she could discern was that a huge trap door had opened in the floor a foot ahead of her.
"Is that really all they got," Lara groaned. This was the easiest temple she had ever broken into. At this moment there was a rumbling sound behind her and she turned in time to see a stone wall swing into place, blocking her path backward. At the same time, another wall swung forward until it was even with the other ledge.
"Well, that's more like it," Lara smirked, "Now I just have to-"
The wall behind her swung forward again, sending her tumbling into the pit. Lara fell for what felt like ages, unable to do anything but scream in terror. Finally, she splashed into a pool of water.
"Next time i'll bring C4..." Lara promised herself. She swam out to the mouth of the cave, finding herself back in the temple. A light shiver, almost a tingle, ran through her body. She started out in a brisk walk down the tunnel path. It was strange, however, that everything seemed heavier on her body. Brushing the thought aside, she continued walking. Then, right in front of the entrance to the room, it happened. The tingles came with a vengeance, and she fell out of her own boots. The tingles intensified, and she shot down, shrinking?
