At the southeast corner of Hyrule, there thrived the lush forest that was the home of children known as the Kokiri. These children were watched over by the Great Deku Tree... who, to be honest, I never understood. He's a tree. A big tree, but still a tree. How is he supposed to protect anyone? Oh well, let's get to the point.
Although the Great Deku Tree could not do much, he could provide knowledge. Within his forest, there was a boy who he would have to inform of the threat that loomed overhead at that very moment, as that boy was the only one who could stop it. But the boy would surely suffer crippling stress if he were alone, so the Great Deku Tree called upon a young fairy girl to be the boy's companion.
"Navi... Navi, where art thou? Come hither..."
Navi quickly fluttered her small fairy wings once she heard the Great Deku Tree call for her. She flew as fast as she could towards the glade where the Great Deku Tree resided.
Upon arriving, the Great Deku Tree spoke of the evil presence that threatens Hyrule, "Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm..." He went on about how he was powerless to stop it, but there was someone who could, "It seems the time has come for the boy without a fairy to begin his journey... The youth whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth..." Navi intently listened to the Great Deku Tree, as there was no doubt a reason why he was confiding this information to her specifically.
Suddenly, the Great Deku Tree shocked Navi by giving her an order, "Navi... go now! Find our young friend and guide him to me... I do not have much time left." Navi was surprised she was suddenly given such an important task over any of the other fairies, considering how she was... considerably more plump than the others. It wasn't noticeable by the Kokiri, as the light her body emits blocks sight of her form, but fairies, including herself, could see her doughy belly. But her self-reflection was interrupted by the Great Deku Tree, "Fly, Navi, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world, depends upon thee!"
Navi immediately darted off to find the boy the Great Deku Tree spoke of. She spotted Mido standing at the entryway of the clearing, acting like he's important, which he isn't. Navi flew between Mido's legs to startle him, which caused him to jump.
Navi looked around Kokiri Forest, trying to locate the boy who didn't have a fairy with him. All of the Kokiri she saw while circling the village had a fairy, so once Navi reached the edge of the village, she turned back around and headed straight towards the boy's house, as it was unlikely he went somewhere else so early in the morning. Navi aimed herself up with the gap in the gate she had to pass through in order to reach the boy's home, and rushed to it. She aimed too low though, and her belly got caught on the bottom of the gap, flinging her back, "A-Ah! Did I really gain that much weight?" Navi muttered to herself as she grabbed her fleshy gut and shook it to see the damage.
After passing through the gate, Navi entered the hollowed out tree, and saw the young boy on a rather small bed, appearing to not be sleeping well. The Great Deku Tree needed to see the boy, so Navi had no other option but to wake him up, "Hello, Link! Wake up! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you!" Link just continued struggle in his sleep, so Navi talked louder, "Link, get up! Hey! C'mon! Can Hyrule's destiny really depend on such a lazy boy?" Finally, Navi heard Link yawn as he sat up, meaning she managed to wake him. Link looked up at the fairy, and...
