Chapter #5Welcome to College by: M   Looking through the three options, you decided to enter the room with the +1 over it. Slowly approaching the door, you placed your hand on the knob and took a deep breath. "Oh well, might as well get it over with." she said as she opened the door and entered into the unknown. By the time you entered through the door, you felt a bit of warmness in your body followed by a little tingle. You wondered what it was, but brushed it aside as nothing and continued walking. By the time you were in, you soon noticed that you're in a different room, but it has the same furnishings in your previous room.
It was a little bigger and wider then the last one and it looks very coozy. You could see the bed at the corner and the stuff animals, but the TV was on the oppostie end with the DVD player below it. There's a book shelf on one of the walls with her books, DVDs, and other trinkets while the dware next to the bed had a lamp and a digital clock on it. The closet was much smaller though as it had some of her clothes along with a few new ones she didn't know about. Then there's a small kitchten and dinning area in another corner that has a small fridge, stove and pantry to prepare and cook food. You soon saw a small window nearby and looked into it. What you saw is a view of New York City with the Empire and Crysler buildings in view. Observing all of this, you could tell that you are in what looks like a small apartment dorm in New York.
You scratch your head as you said, "That's odd... Why am I in an apartment building in the city. I could see my furniture here, but why is that there as well." Looking around, you noticed something else on the nightstand and approached it to take a closer look. You could see two photo frames as one was her and her family. But the other photo was that of two women with her. You've blinked and was confused about that part. But then, you feel lightheaded as you had a minor headache. Rubbing your head, you wondered why that happened. Just then something clicked, like your mind is being filled with knowledge. You soon realized that those are your friends from college. "Friends from college?" you said to yourself, "Why am I even thinking that? I never had friends in college. I never ever been through college at all. Right?" You quickly then noticed a calender on the fridge door and approached it to see for yourself. Looking at it, your eyes grew wide as you soon realized that it changed. Sure the month and day are the same, but the year was different, as it was a year ahead. Seeing this, you blinked and started to realize something. "No way..." you said as you wanted to take a good look at yourself.
You then turned to the full length mirror to see yourself. So far, nothing has changed with the exception of her clothes. She was now wearing a light blue shirt with a sleeveless Demin jacket over it, skinny jeans with rippage on the knees, and a pair of sneakers with three inch high heels. But then, you could see a bit of toneness on your arms as if you've been in the gym a while. Looking on, your mouth was agape as you wondered why you are in a dorm apartment in a body a bit older.
Just then, more memories started to flood into your head as you started to piece together was was going on. Turns out, you left your home after graduating high school to attend college to live your life long dream. That dream was to become an inspired professional dancer. You found an apartment dorm to your liking and got into NYU where they have a great performing arts wing. You studied hard to get to your goal and work out in the morning to have a body fit enough to be a dancer. And you made some friends in college so you can socialize with your peers. Remembering all of this, you stood there and came into the realization. "The door I walked into brought me forward in time to one year." you mumbled as a smile went up to your face, "This is so cool!"
Turning back, you noticed something very off. There were three doors placed in front of you. One was another +1, the other is a normal door and a -1. You scratched the back of your head and figured out that the +1 takes you a year ahead while the -1 gets you back a year. The normal could be you entering and having a normal life in your new age. You start to wonder what to do.
