Meredith has a scowl on her face as she makes a cup of coffee. You don’t normally drink coffee (caffeine is way more powerful on you than on most people), but you pulled an all-nighter studying for your Humanities test, and it hits harder than you expected, which was pretty hard to begin with. Seeing your hungry look, your girlfriend snaps an Oreo in two in hives half to you.
“Thanks,” you mumble through a mouthful of cookie, “So what’s the deal? Is Jaden bugging you?”
Meredith huffed. “He refuses to accept my decision and move on.”
Despite only having met the guy once, from what Meredith and your classmates have told you, he wasn’t a great guy. He was a spoiled rich kid who got in on his parents’ money and wasted no time letting everyone know. Meredith had been sucked in by the sparkle of his bullshit, but quickly realized what kind of person he was. Jaden, however, hadn’t gotten over her, and had been increasing inappropriate.
“He sent me more nudes last night,” Meredith complained, “After I blocked him twice, he still finds new ways to harass me!”
“Did you report him to the campus authorities?”
“Yes! But his family’s a “fine example of academic splendor”, she said in a mocking voice, “so they won’t even investigate!”
“Have you tried the police?”
“That’s my next step. I’m worried they won’t take me seriously either.”
You want to set her mind at ease, but before you can say anything, there’s a knock at the door.
