It's a very brief summary, as the ground pitched beneath you. Putting too much of your weight on one stone, causing a cascade that alerted the enemy to your position. The suspicion is clear that you deliberately betrayed your position, and 'convenient' head injury that put you out of commission for the entire ambush is just an excuse for you not to fight.
The gash to your head is deep, and real, the unconsciousness lasted a few days. But, your body was recovered still breathing after the ground was recaptured. So many of those who fought told tragic stories... and so few of them survived to tell them.
You can't even tell how well the plan was executed, or if your forces lost their courage seeing you fall so early in the action, or took it as an ill-omen. It leaves you rather poorly positioned to defend yourself, your plan or even your survival. The extended delay while you recovered has allowed bad feelings to surface. Possibly fostered by those wanting to see your downfall. Even, as you wish to argue the severity of the injury and the duration of your recovery testify to the reality rather than artifice of your injury. They aren't for listening, the outcry amongst the widows, orphans, and the general population mean you're facing an uphill struggle.
