"Boys?" you ask, fear bleeding into your voice, "But sis I already know everything about boys, after all I was one!"
“That’s exactly it Rose” your sister replies “You know everything from a guy's perspective. But a couple of things have changed now that you’re a girl.”
“Like what?” you ask, not quite getting what she means.
“Like dating for example. You see sis, since you’re a girl now, you’re going to want to make sure that your boyfriend is…”
You obediently sit through the lesson, committing every word to memory, because even though a part of you feels a bit wrong about the thought of being in a relationship with a boy, you know it’s going to happen eventually.
“…and that pretty much sums up how to let a boy know you like him. Any questions?”
“No sis…” you reply, a bit overwhelmed from all this new information. A blush breaks out on your cheek when you imagine dating another boy, snuggling against him in his protective paws, kissing him softly on the lips…”
“Hello, earth to Rose?” you sister giggles, breaking you from your daydream.
“Oh, sorry sis! I was just—“
“thinking about what it’s like to have a boyfriend, weren’t you sis?” she replies with a smirk.
“What, what makes you think that? I wasn’t thinking about kissing a boy!” you stutter.
“Well first of all I never said anything about kissing a boy” she says, causing you to mentally kick yourself for having a Freudian slip “secondly you have that look in your eye that all girls get when they’re thinking about a boy, and lastly your currently blushing so hard that your face looks like a tomato.”
“Well, maybe I was thinking about it a little bit…” you mumble, knowing you’ve been caught red-handed.
“Well I’m glad you’re thinking that way because I’ve already signed you up for a little double-date with me, my boyfriend and his little brother!” she squeals in delight, making it obvious that she’d been planning this for awhile.
You, on the other hand, are not so overjoyed with this news, and the color drains from your face as you scream “A date already!? But sis I’ve only been a girl for little more than a week now, I’m not ready to go out with guys yet!!”
“Come on Rose, didn’t you say a week ago that you’ll eventually have to find a mate?” you sister asks.
“Yes sis, eventually, not in just a week!”
“Oh don’t get your bow in a twist Rose. I’m not saying you have to mate with the guy, I just think it’s time you got a little snuggle-buddy of your own. Now let me grab some perfume and combs and we can help each other get ready…” she says before you quickly run off into the woods as fast as you can, leaving a trail of dust in your wake.
"Looks like someone has cold feet." your sister giggles as she starts to groom herself for the date. "You're going to have to come out of your shell eventually Rose!"
You sprint through the trees as fast as your legs can take you, checking over your shoulder every few seconds to make sure your sister isn’t following you. Suddenly you see a furry blur running towards you out of the corner of your eye and you quickly brace yourself right before it runs into you head-on.
“Ugh…” you groan, your head dizzy as you try to get up onto your paws “What happened?”
“Oh my god I’m so sorry!” you hear a male voice call out above you “I was running away from my brother and I didn’t see you! Let me help you up!”
You try to focus on the furry blob helping you to your paws but you eyesight is blurred from the collision.
“There you go…Are you okay?” you hear the voice say. Soon you head clears, your vision sharpens and you see that the thing that ran into you was a male….
