You find a mirror in your attic that allows you to swap physical traits/bodies with anyone

This choice: you try to reverse it  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

Is it worth reversing the switch?

    by: Unknown
As much as you like your new position in life you decide to try and reverse the body switch. Your mom is now much stronger than you and she is really starting to scare you.

"Mom, you wait here. I'll go reverse it.".

"No Tim, I'm going with you. I'm going to find out how you did this and make sure it never happens again."

Reluctantly you let your mom follow you up to the attic. You see the mirror right where you left it. As soon as your mom sees the mirror, she says "Tim, where did you find this?".

"Laying right on this shelf mom. You mean you know about it?".

Your mom looks extremely pale and says "You don't understand what you have done. This mirror does allow people to switch bodies, but its results are very unpredictable and unstable. We might not be able to switch back to our own bodies, and even if we are able to something terrible might happen.".

You sit down on an old trunk, still unused to being in your mom's body, and think about what she has just told you. "What do you mean that we might not be able to switch back?".

Your mom sits down next to you, also looking like she is having a difficult time adjusting to your body, and says "My great grandmother had bought this mirror at a magic fair in Bavaria. It has remained in the family ever since. It usually allows a person to switch bodies with another person once. If they try to switch back or switch with another person it only occasionally works. Sometimes it will change both people permanently in ways they do not wish. I'd rather not go into the details.".

Looking at the seriousness on your former body's face, you know that your mom is telling the truth. For some reason you feel like crying even though you never cry. You figure it must be because you are in your mom's body and now have her hormones.

You look at your mom and say "I'm sorry mom. I didn't mean for this to happen, I didn't even know that the mirror had any special powers. When we switched bodies, I only planned on staying as you for a couple of hours. I just wanted to see what it would be like to be you.". By the time you have finished saying this you are sobbing uncontrollably.

Your mom seems to be kind of freaked out by your new emotional personality but she puts an arm around you and says 'It's okay honey, I realize you meant no harm. We do have a decision to make though - do we switch back and risk some horrible consequences or do we now live each other's lives?".

You both decide to...........

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Risk the consequences and switch back

2. Try and live out each other's lives

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
