"...we're part of a health study!"

    by: Greylite Author IconMail Icon
“We're part of a health study!” Rebecca excitedly explained. “We have a chance to test out some REAL alien and human unity!” It sounds like she's been ready for this moment her whole life. I turn to Dr. Clados for more details. “She's right, we've been researching human for some time now, and some similarities have been clear between our two species” Dr. Clados said while turning and sitting down at her desk.

“Hesper has been more than an immeasurable amount of help. We've had so many breakthroughs studying the local people of this town” Dr. Clados said while bringing out a keyboard. With a press of a button, a transparent screen appeared in front of the doctor. “Only 3 months into our expedition of your planet, and high and not hold, some amazing breakthroughs have come to fruition.” The Doctor said while turning the screen 180 degrees to show what she was admiring. Pictures flashed on-screen as she scrolled though the list. Not a single object had any kind of familiarity to me.

Before she continued, I interrupted her. “Uh... Dr. Clados, I think the saying you were going for is low and beh *Ugh·.” I felt an elbow in my side, Rebecca nudging me, while shaking her head. “Give up on it Conrad, it's a lost cause” Rebecca leaned in close to whisper to me.

“I'm sorry Conrad, what were you saying?” Clados questioned while giving me a quizzical look. “Never mind, you hit the screw right on the head.” I said while letting a sigh of defeat leave my lips.

“Alright, as I was saying. We've been looking to introduce our two species to one another, obviously that hasn't been a welcome idea on the human side.” She said while pointing over to a pile. “What is it?” I asked. “It's products from human, you might recognize them.” Dr. Clados nodding her head for me to check it out.

Walking over to the pile of skinny rectangles, I quickly understood what was in front of me. “Oh wow, these are some old movies and games.” I mentioned before squatting down to rummage though the older disks. I found one that caught my attention. “I haven't seen this in forever!” I excitedly yelled while picking up the case. “Annihilate all beings, it's been years since I've seen this game.” I turned around to a less than pleased Clados and an embarrassed Rebecca.

I drop the game when I caught grasp of the situation. “That's a good thing, means nobody likes it.” I try to save the situation, with little achieved. *Ahem* “Human might not like the idea of us just materializing from thin air. So we came up with the conclusion that if we can make their lives better, they'll accept us with open arms.” Dr. Clados finished with turning the screen around to face her again.

Stepping away from the now obvious controversial pile of pop culture items. “ I know you said that we're gonna be part of a health study, but what did you mean?” Questioning the Doctor while walking towards her and Rebecca.

“Well I'm glad you asked Conrad, because Rebecca and yourself will be...
