Tails sighed as he picked up the phone and dialed Shadow's cell phone number. He knew, unlike Sonic He keeps his phone with him.
"Please pick up, Shadow, we need you..." Tails mumbled as the phone rang for Shadow.
After what seemed like forever "Hello?"
Tails gave a breath of relief."Shadow, this is Tails."
Shadow sighed "What do you want Miles?" He said with a tired groan.
"Ummm,I need to ask you for a favor..." Tails said shyly, questioning his desision at this moment.
"If you want me to help you test your new machine, the answer is no."
"NO! That wasn't what I was going to ask you at all!" Tails cried out.
"Then WHAT is it?" Shadow asked, Tails heard a hint of cutiousity in his voise.
"Well,it's kinda a long story..." Tails said sheepishly into the phone.
"Then just get to the point Miles! I'm not waiting all day for you to tell me what you need from me!" Shadow said sharply.
"Fine, I just wanted to know if you could babysit Sonic for a few weeks?" Tails said, wanting to get this over with.
Tails was met with silence, on the other endhe could here him walking somewhere, before he made a sighing noise, he knew Shadow was sitting down, and when he did that, he was ether tired,confused or annoyed, or even all three.
Finally after a fewmtorturing moments,he began to speak "Would you care to explain WHY you're asking me to babysit your fifthteen year old brother, who is very capable of taking care of himself by the way?"
And with that Talis found himself telling the hedgehog on the other line everything tha thad happened
"So let me get this straight, YOU turned your older brother into a toddler with YOUR new machine and YOU want ME to watch my BIGGEST rival on this planet, so YOU can fix the greatest mistake on this planet, did I get sum it all up,hmmm Miles?"
"Ummm,...Yes?" Tails said meekly,"Boy, he surely knows how to make me feel like a toddler in BIG trouble." he thought."Unless you know where Knuckles or Tikal is?"Tails said quickly
Shadow sighed"Fine, I'll help."
Tails was surprise to say the least."REALLY!?!"
"Yes,really,Knuckles is mediating on Angel Island for a few weeks,private thing,and Tikal went Europe,So,I'll be there in a little bit." shadow answered simply
"Th-THANK YOU SHADOW!!!" Tails cried out.
All of a sudden some faint noices were made from the other side of the phone "His he...chuckling?" Tails asked in his thoughts.He just shrugged, this was NOT the time to question him.
" Alright then I'm on my way," Shadow stated "Oh, and Miles one thing?"
"Yes Shadow?" Tails answered.
"It might be wise to get Sonic away from that window, that thing doesn't have a child lock."
"Huh?" He looked towards the window behind him, that being the only window in the room, only to panick at the sight he was looking at. There was Sonic opening the window,starting to escape.
"Yipe! Gotta go!" He threw the phone, not bothering to push cancel.
"Sonic no!" Tails yanked, the blue hedgehog tot away from the window, closing it behind behind him.
"Hey! Howd you know what I was doing! I was supa quiet!"
"Shadow told me." Sonic asked
The two stared at each other for a bit before"How did Sadow know whats I was doing?" Sonic ask
Tails shrugged," I have no idea, maybe you should ask him when he gets here."
"Ask me what?"
The two turned around,only to see Shadow standing in front of the doorway, well leaning is more like it, with an eyebrow raised.
Sonic quickly hid behind his now big little brother out of imbarresment
Shadow simply walked towards the two friends "Hello Miles," Tails gave him a weak smile. Shadow bent down and looked at Sonic, giving him a soft smile "Hello Sonic."
Sonic peaked from behind Tails "H-Hey." Fear gripped Sonic at that moment. Shadow never smiles, not at Sonic exspecially.
Shadow stood up,looking at Tails again,Tails looked away from him. "Tails," the sound of his voice forced Tails to look at black hedgehog piercing red eyes "His he ready to go?"
Tails nodded"He doesn't have anything except what he's wearing." he said meekly
Shadow gave a disapproving glance towards Sonic, putting the small hedgehog back into hiding
He sighed,"That's fine, I have everything he needs anyway."
The two wanted to ask him what he meant by that, but fear and shyness is a funny thing.
"I'll bring him back here in four weeks time," Tails nodded
"Okay." Tails said. He turned to the blue toddler hugging him tightly"Be safe Sonic."
The blue hedgehog just nodded. The two left there imbrace and Sonic started walking towards the door.
Shadow turned to follow the hedgehog but than stopped and faced Tails. "Oh, and Miles," he went over to Tails,bent down, and in the fox's whispered "Do this again and I'll make your hide burn,if you do not eat at LEAST two meals and day I'll burn your hide, if you do not SLEEP for at least seven hours I'll burn you hide, if you do all THREE, Lord help us if you do all three, so don't, do you understand me Miles."
The two tailed fox nodded"Y-Yes sir."
And with a nod he turned around and left, with walking Sonic only a foot away.
