Saying Sonic freaked was an understatement, the poor young hedgehog felt as if he'd go into histerics. Which is why Sonic was running as fast as his little legs could carry him away from Shadow.
"If only I didn't go into that stupid machine!" he thought to himself, running blindly through the house.
And it was because he ran around without thinking, he ran into something long, black and furry. For the first time that day, Sonic was glad he was wearing some padding, as he fell on his bottom. He looked up and saw Shadow looking at him with his eyebrow up and an amused expression on his face.
"Going somewhere Sonic?" The red eyed hedgehog questioned as he lifted the toddler off the floor and and into his arms.
The blue hedgehog glared at Shadow "Let me down now! Is not unny!"
The right now tall hedgehog rolled his eyes "It's not meant to be 'uuny' Sonic. But attempting to run away from me is not going to get you anywhere good."
Sonic nodded his head "will so, we oth know you no like me, and I no like you, it bests I weave untill Tails gets tha stupid machine to urn me backs to normal! Besides, you no wants me in your queepy aunted ouse and I no wants go an get eaten by vombies."
It surprised Sonic to say the least when Shadow laughed out loud. He never thought the older hedgehog could smile let alone laugh.
"Whats so unny!?!" Sonic questioned in slight annoyance.
Shadow shook is head and breath in to calm himself. "Just the things that go into people's head when they don't know something."
Sonic gave him a confused look.
"You'll understand when we get to my place."
Sonic groaned but knew their was so point in arguing or attempt to get down, Shadow has the upper hand at the moment.
"But before we go I want you to know one thing, Sonic."
"Wha?" Sonic said grouchly, he really, truely didn't want to listen to Shadow nor did he want to go to Shadow's house.
Shadow raised his eyebrow at the tone but said
"If I didn't want you I wouldn't have agreed to take you in for the month."
Sonic was about to ask him what he meant by that , but the black hedgehog already pulled out a blue chaos emerald from behind his quills and at the moment yelled out
"Chaos Control!"
Sonic shut his eyes tight as he did this, not because he was uncomfortable in chaos controling in general, he did it before,no, it was because he didn't want to see Shadow's freaky house that was only told in stories late at night so it would scare the life out of the listeners. He didn't want to see the manchion surrounded by the moat of blood that belonged to innocent virgins who decided to make Shadow cross, or the or the bridge made of the dead bodies of all who apposed the black hedgehog, or the rabid dark chao that swam in the moat who waited for someone to walk near before eatting all the skin and meat as the poor soul screamed and died, he didn't want to see the floating heads of ghosts or the soulless zombie servants or the vampire gaurds. Maybe if he kept his eyes closed he might live long enough to see tomorrow.
"Sonic, open your eyes, we're here."
Sonic shook his head rapidly, earning a questioning look from Shadow, not like the blue toddler could see it anyways. It didn't take very long for Shadow to figure out what was wrong , it's not like it was rocket science or anything.
"Sonic, you're going to be staying here for a while, you might as well and see what your home for the month looks like."
Sonic shook his head "No wanna. Your ouse's a danerous place, an I no wanna die."
It took all of Shadow's will to not laugh aloud as he looked up and down his home.
"You're not going to die, Sonic. Nothing in my house is more dangerous than me I asure you."
"I no believes you! I no looking." Sonic exclaimed
Shadow sighed and shook his head,"The things that go through people's head now a days." he thought to himself.
He smirked, maybe he should try a drifferent approach. "Sonic, the quicker you open your eyes means the quicker you will walk into the house and we can get something to eat. I didn't eat llunch yet and I'm sure you didn't ether."
"Why is he always right?" Sonic thought with a groan. He wanted to get down and he wanted to eat, but was that a big enough to risk dieing from fright? He sighed, of course it is, especially if you haven't eaten breakfast ether.
"Fine adow, but if I die I swears I'll aunts you til yous die!" Sonic growled.
Shadow rolled his eyes, "No swearing Sonic, there is no point or use for it."
Sonic didn't answer as he slowly peeled his eyes and looked ahead of him, the young hedgehog stared in a surprised shock, he could feel Shadow's smirk on him.
"Adow?" Sonic said
"Yes Sonic?" Shadow said, still smirking
"I thinks you went tos the wong ouse." Sonic said
The house was a wooden white two story with a sky blue tile roof and a stain glass window on the top where he guessed the attic was. There was a porch with a porch swing, a rocking chair and some shiny wind chimes as well as a large garden suronding the area on all sides. There was also a clear calm river and a small wooden bridge over it.In other words it looked like the house should belong to Vanilla and Cream, or Amy at least, not Shadow, the creepy warrior hedgehog.
Shadow chuckled "I think not Sonic, I lived here for a while, I would think I would know what my own house would look like."
Sonic could only stare at the house, wide eyed "Wait until the guys here about this!" he thought.
Shadow smirked at the look on his charge's face as he put the child down onto the grass. No one knew about this place, except a few handful of people. He took Sonic's hand.
"Come Sonic, before the river turns to blood."
He laughed at the glare the child gave him as they walked over the bridge to the the porch, the two walked up the stairs to the door. He opened the door and the two walked in. To say the least the inside looked as homey as the outside.
"Wow." sonic said in awe. Shadow raised his eyebrow at the small hedgehog.
"You act as if this was some stunning palace."
"It migh as well be." Sonic exclaimed. Shadow rolled his eyes and to Sonic's surprise called out
"Maria! Marian! Our guest is here, come and meet him!"
All of a sudden a sky blue hero chao wearing a white skirt and and a lavander flicky bird with a red hair ribbon flew in, both looking plesantly excited. Sonic let out a surprised gasp at the two kind looking creatures and let out a giggle as the two nuzzled and cooed at him, before going to Shadow to do the same to him. The red eyed hedgehog chuckled, "Alright you two stop it, I'm glad you like him."
The two creature soon settled down, the bird on is shoulder while the chao sat on his head.
"Sonic this is Maria," motioning to the chao sitting on his head. The female hero chao cooed sweetly, waving cheerfully at the blue hedgehog, Sonic waved back.
"And ths is Marian." Shadow said as the bird sweetly chirped her greetings to the child.
"Before you ask, they are not my pets, they are my friends and help take care of the house, and they will be respected as such, you understand?" Shadow said slightly stern. Sonic nodded, then he smirked
"Are we sure you're not a clones or somethin, you actin too weird to be the real adow."
Shadow rolled his eyes as the flicky and chao giggled sercretly, chirping aloud at the hedgehog.Shadow rolled his eyes
"No he isn't, just until Miles repairs the machine that turned him into a child in the first place."
Marian gave a disapproving chirp "I know that was irresponsible and unlike the child, but it happened and we'll leave it at that." Shadow leaned closer to the bird, whispering so Sonic won't hear."I plan on checking on him later, and he knows better than to disobey me." The bird chirpped knowingly and the chao nodded.
Sonic raised is eyebrow "I didn't know you could talk to birds and chao." he commented. Shadow chuckled.
"I have the omni-linguism ability, I can talk to anyone and they can talk to me, makes my life so much easier."
Sonic nodded, all of this was getting so weird.Shadow never talked this much in one day before, maybe something was wrong with him.
"Now," Shadow bended to Sonic's hight "Knowing you, you are hungry or want to explore, so I'll give you two choices, you can come with me and Maria to eat or you and Marian can go tour the house, what do you want to first?"
Sonic thought for a moment before saying,
