Stephanie placed Morgan in her other hand and closed her fist around her, and walked out to her car. She placed Morgan on the brim of an ashtray that was shaped like a cup and fit neatly in the cup holder.
“Hope you don’t mind if I smoke,” Stephanie said, lighting a Marlboro.
Morgan did mind. At one point she’d loved smoking, but she quit ten years ago, and now hated it. She looked up at the giant woman. Her shirt was a little too tight, hugging her chubby belly. She could tell Stephanie didn’t shave her armpits, which grossed her out. Morgan watched as Stephanie took a drag off of the cigarette and blew out a plume of smoke larger than any cloud she’d ever seen.
Stephanie brought the cigarette down to the ashtray and flicked ash into the cup, startling Morgan. Fresh smoke from the tip drifted over and made Morgan cough, which elicited a laugh from Stephanie.
