Teuchi, with all the speed and efficiency of a master chef, places the first of what is to be ondoubtedly many bowls of ramen on the bar in front of Naruto. The planets number one unpredictable ninja giggles gleefully of the prospect that is sitting before him, he knew for a fact that if there was anything that he was better at than Sasuke it was eating ramen, no questions asked. He quickly grabs a pair of chopsticks pair of from the nearby pile, and is about to dig in when suddenly,
"Hi, boss!"
Naruto finches and almost crushes the chopsticks in his hand out of the sheer surprise as three high pitched and very familiar voices catch him by surprise. With a sigh naruto turns his stool around and sure enough right behind him are the three little "ninjas" of the Konohamaru Corps.
"Hey Konohamaru, hey Moegi, hey Udon." Thankfully Naruto keeps his temper in check as he greets his three youngest friends in turn.
Each of the three acadamy students smile brightly as their "boss" greets them.
"So boss what are you up to, huh, huh?"
"Well Konohamaru if you must know I'm eating, why else would I be in a ramen stand."
Udon leans over to their leader and whispers something to him, and knowing these three brats as well as he did Naruto could tell it was a 'told ya' or something along that line.
Then Moegi gives off a bored sigh before she starts to whine like the little kid she was.
"But boss that's so boring, come play ninja with us!"
"I would if I could but I can't I need to eat so I can be ready for the next round of the Chuunin exams."
At that the two boys stop their little argument.
"Oh yeah I heard grandpa mention something about that, the next round is a sumo tournament."
"Sumo, why would ninja want to do anything with sumo?" Asks Moegi as she wrinkled her nose at the thought.
"Yeah boss wouldn't gaining all that weight slow you down?" Udon follows up with a long hard snort through his seemingly always stuffed nose.
"Well, well yeah at first, but, but, just look at the Akimichi clan their kinda heavy and they don't slow down. Besides a truely great ninja can take any challenge on and win."
At that the three junior ninja go into full hero worship mode, glistening eyes and everything.
"That's it! Guys the only way were going to prove that we're great ninja like the boss is to overcome the same challenges as him, boss will you let us eat with you?"
"Um, well it's just I really need to start gaining weight and,"
"Please!" All three students go into full fledge puppy dog pout mode, and Naruto's defences crumble like a piece of feta under a barbell.
"Alright! fine, you can eat with me. But don't start crying to me when if you eat to much."
"YAY!" Cheer the the three children as they quickyl climb onto the stools next to Naruto.
"Old man a round of sumo ramen for my little friends."
"You sure about that Naruto that stuffs really potent."
"They're going to insist no matter what we say just go a head and serve them, they probably won't make it past one bowl."
