It has been several months since Gon returned home to his grandma and Mito, the now Nenless boy sitting in his room at a desk. Completed papers strewn across the floor and bed, his arms crossed his arms as smoke spews forth from his ears. The papers before him on the desk barely scribbled on. "I can't handle math. I wish Mito wasn't making me do this." frustration in his speech as he thinks back to how Mito told him to catch up to the years of schoolwork he left behind while he lived as a Hunter and searched for his dad.
Gon tried to force himself to solve the math problems as quick and accurate as possible to end the nightmare before him. If I don't finish soon I'll eventually have another year of homework to do. Gon shivered in horror at the thought. I wish something will save me from this horrible nightmare.
On cue, a knock on his door had come to answer his prayers. "Gon. It's your friend Killua. He's on the phone."
Getting up with joy at a chance for relief he walked over to the door and answered "Thanks Mito!" as fast as possible as he headed downstairs to the phone. Mito stood there unsurprised that he sought a chance to get away from his schoolwork. Looking at the mess she sighed. "At least he's doing it properly."
Downstairs Gon quickly arrived at the phone to talk to Killua Zoldyk. "Hi Killua! What's going on with you and Alluka?"
"Nothing much." Killua replied with some joy at talking to Gon "We just got to Yorknew city. We're planning where to go right now. Palm and the others told me they called and that Mito's been making you do lots of schoolwork."
"Yeah and I'm bored out of mind."
"Well good news! Nanika says she wants to help you. She knows how boring being locked away can be" Gon wasn't sure what Killua was talking about, but he knows that there were "complicated issues" concerning their family situation and that Kil wouldn't explain more. "So we're going make things easier for you "
"Nanika enhance Gon please" Killuas words were heard by Gon as well as Nanikas "Aye" over the phone.
Instantly a glow of nen overwhelmed his body. A feeling of warmth filling his being as he felt his mind relax and exhaustion from thinking was gone. The feeling, still feeling him with a warm pleasure, talks on the phone. "I feel great! More than capable of handling math now. Thank you Killua, Alluka, and Nanika!" he siaid over the phone.
"You're welcome Gon. Alluka and Nanika are happy it seems to have helped." Killua replied as he thought what to say next. "A month from now Alluka wants you to come here. She wants us to hang out for awhile."
The feeling still persisting across his body, Gon replied "I'll make sure to finish by then and have Mito let me go. Bye Killua!"
"Bye Gon!" Killua finished as he hung up on the other side, hanging up the phone, Gon went up the stairs to begin doing his schoolwork again as the warmth still spread. "I'll get this done in no time!" Unbeknownst to Gon, his arms that loss their muscle tone from being healed were slowly gaining an inch of definition.
